SUMMARY:Acetate Drypoint Etching Workshop (including Compact Prints registration)
DESCRIPTION:Join Umbrella and artist Lynn Scott-Cumming to produce your own edition of four drypoint prints from 9:30am-12:30pm Sunday 6 September 2020. This workshop is the second in Umbrella's series which will enable participants to learn (or rediscover) basic printmaking techniques and produce artwork for Umbrella's 10th Compact Prints international exhibition and artwork exchange.\nFor each ticket purchased\, the participant will receive:\n- free registration for Compact Prints ($25AU)\n- high-quality paper for producing four prints\n- the option to submit their best / favourite three prints to Compact Prints\n- one print for the artist to keep\n- additional paper for misprints\n- a 12 x 12cm piece of acetate\n- non-toxic inks and cleaning materials\n- use of Umbrella's tools\, benches and printing presses\n- complimentary morning tea\nParticipants are encouraged to bring their own images (as a 12 x 12cm design) or reference materials and a needle-tool if possible. Participants can purchase additional high-quality paper from Umbrella on the day\, however time restrictions may not allow for more than four prints per person. All other materials will be provided. While led by Lynn\, the workshop will also be supported by experienced printmakers from the Umbrella Makerspace Access Group (UMAG).\nTickets $100 each for Umbrella members | $130 each non-members\nFor Umbrella members\, log in to your account to receive your workshop discount\nLimited to 10 spaces (ages 16+) | Bookings close 5pm Friday 4 September 2020 \nIf you have already paid your Compact Prints registration fee and would like to attend this workshop\, please contact staff for a $25 discount code.\nPlease also note this workshop can be bundled with the Linocut Printing Workshop and Transfer Release Printing Workshop for a discounted price as a Compact Prints Workshop Series Bundle.\nLynn Scott-Cumming is a Townsville-based artist and printmaker. She holds a Master of Creative Arts (Painting and Writing) from James Cook University (JCU) and a Bachelor of Visual Arts (JCU).
