SUMMARY:Brushes: the fourth treasure of the Chinese studio
DESCRIPTION:Dr Alan Dartnall’s career includes studying the natural history and taxonomy of sea stars\, museum curation and display\, scientific editing\, and teaching both zoology and museum studies at tertiary level. Alan’s work on museum displays and exhibitions led to an interest in lettering and calligraphy.  This combined with his interest in material culture led to a fascination with the tools of calligraphy\, especially brushes.\n\nIn this talk Alan plans to share with you some of his knowledge of\, and delight in\, these special objects.
