SUMMARY:Intaglio Workshop Intensive Course with Jill O’Sullivan
DESCRIPTION:9am - 3pm each day Saturday 30\, Sunday 31 March & Sunday 7 April 2019\n\nThis workshop is open to everyone (beginners through to experienced artists). You will learn the key components of creating an etching - including plate preparation\, etching techniques and the art of inking and printing your finishing plate.\n\nThe first weekend will focus on demonstrations with BIG ground\, experimenting with different aquatint methods\, coffee lifts\, soft and hard grounds.\n\nThe second weekend will focus on printing your etched plates: how to set the press\, the nuances of inks and wiping techniques\, and how to clean up safely.\n\nDr Jill O’Sullivan is a master printmaking technician who has over 20 years’ experience in all printmaking mediums\, specialising in etching and lithography.\n\nMaterials to Bring:\n\n\tDrypoint tools (some will be provided if you do not have any)\n\tPrintmaking papers – approx. 250gsm Hahnemühle\, Rosapina\, Fabriano – Umbrella will have paper available for purchase if required.\n\tCotton pads\n\tEucalyptus oil\n\n
