SUMMARY:The magic of earth colours with Dr Anneke Silver
DESCRIPTION:A workshop at beginners’ level exploring the expressive potential of earth colours\n\nThis workshop is an introductory look at art history of western and non-western traditions of earth colour usage. Participants will focus on practical exploration of this palette in subjects or designs of your choice while manipulating tone and colour to create drama and depth.\n\nParticipants should bring the following:\n\n•    Materials/media of your choice\, the exception being oil based media because they take longer to dry; and the fumes may be a problem in the space for other participants.\n•    Make sure to bring your earth range. If necessary buy to extend your range to include the basic earth colours: naples yellow\, yellow ochre/ oxide\, raw sienna\, burnt sienna\, indian red/ red ochre\, raw umber\, burnt umber.\n•    bring suitable surfaces to work on depending on your medium: good quality smooth to medium water colour paper\, canvas paper or board; or better yet — lots of small canvases around A5 size if working in acrylics.\n•    Suitable brushes for the scale and medium you plan to work in\n•    A ruler\, pencil\, rubber\n•    Spare note paper\n•    A choice of photographic material with a strong range of tones —at least half a dozen images\, as well as photo copies (good quality) of them in black and white.\n•    Something for lunch\n\nMembers Price: $120 - please log in to receive this discount.
