SUMMARY:Sheltering by Barbara Pierce
DESCRIPTION:Barbara Pierce\n\nShelter\, landscape and social fabric are essentially linked and unique to prevailing circumstances. In this exhibition a familiar theme is revisited in work initiated in response to word of humanitarian crises where the seeking of shelter or sanctuary is paramount.\n\nBarbara Pierce will be giving a floor talk for Sheltering on Sunday 18 August\, following Bernadette Boscacci's floortalk for Travelling by String at 10am.\n\nPlease note the exhibition and floortalks will be held in a temporary location at downstairs 380 Flinders Street.\nBoth exhibitions will be on display from 6pm Friday 16 August until 22 September 2019.\n\n_____________________________________\n\nUmbrella Studio is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland\, and the Visual Arts and Craft Strategy\, an initiative of the Australian\, state and territory governments.\n\nTravelling by String was made possible by the Australian Government's Regional Arts Fund\, provided through Regional Arts Australia\, administered by Flying Arts Alliance.
