It can raise your public profile with new customers and can be a significant link to drawing attention to your arts practice. This workshop delivered by Justin Bishop from Black Square Arts (Cairns) demystifies merchandising\, demonstrating how you can transition your original designs into a reproduceable format for market consumption (e.g. on cups\, tea towels\, sarongs etc). It teaches participants how\, where and why they merchandise and educates on the economics of making merchandise work for them.\n\nThings to be covered:\n\n\tmerchandise vs marketing\n\tundertaking market research\n\tbrand identity concepts\n\tmerchandising artwork: what and how?\n\toptions for varying budgets\n\tpricing awareness\n\tlicensing for merchandise\n\tcultural protocol\n\tappropriation/ intellectual property and copyright in merchandising\n\nDuring the break\, Arts Queensland will hold a consultation on a 10-Year Roadmap for arts and culture.
