Today is not tomorrow: PTSD Understories

Al Green - Wild Cherry

This group exhibition aims to raise community awareness about the ways that post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) affects individuals, families and communities. It also reflects on the ways that artistic practice can foster mental health. The exhibit includes works from established and emerging North Queensland and Australian artists who draw on a range of artistic, professional and personal experiences relating to PTSD.

Today is not tomorrow: PTSD Understories has been curated by Dr Robin Rodd, College of Arts, Society & Education, James Cook University and features artists Uli Liessmann, Jenny Mulcahy, Kim Herringe, Bernadette Boscacci, Toni-Lee Birch, Julie Woodlock, Carmel Jones, Al Green and Jan Hynes.

Please note the exhibition and associated public events will be held in Umbrella Studio’s new location at 408 Flinders Street, Townsville (next to Mary Who? Bookshop). The exhibition will be on display from 6pm Friday 8 November (for the opening) and run until 15 December 2019.
