For our fourth Creative Industries session, Umbrella will be joined by guest panelists to discuss their experiences and provide insights and tips for approaching artistic collaborations and working collaboratively. This will be an invaluable resource for artists in North Queensland and Australia-wide. Lynnette Griffiths, Racy Oui-Pitt and Marion Gaemers will speak about their collaborative projects and exhibitions. Lynette and Racy both work for Erub Arts, a Torres Strait Island art centre of national and international acclaim. Their collaborations are featured as a case study in Protocols for using First Nations Cultural and Intellectual Property in the ArtsThis will be a great insight into cross-cultural collaborations. Daniel Qualischefski (Danish Quapoor) will also speak about his previous collaborations and about curating the recent collaborative SICs Degrees exhibition at Murky Waters Studio in Townsville. He will be joined by SICs Degrees exhibiting artists Karri McPherson and Joeli Eastell to discuss their experiences. The session is expected to last approximately 1 hour and will include a session for audience questions.
