A HANDMADE CHRISTMAS | UMBRELLA GOES GREEN

Join Umbrella Studio and Margaret Crawford for this 2 hour ceramic workshop. Participants will be introduced to a variety of hand-building techniques to create a range of flatware, including dishes, plates and trays.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and does not require a pottery wheel. Various techniques for handmaking will be demonstrated (including rolling and ‘throwing’ slabs), and surface applications (including cutting, refining, creating rims and applying textures). Workshop participants will use stoneware clay and have the choice of two glaze colours – clear or white.

The flatware items will be bisqued and glaze-fired after the workshop at the North Queensland Potter’s Studio. Participants will then be available for collection from Umbrella Studio on Friday 20 December, Saturday 21 December or Sunday 22 December.
