PUNQ | “A Taste of Portraiture” with The Drawing Room – Tony Fitzsimmons and Gerald Soworka

From 6pm will be a two hour free art taster outlining the portrait drawing procedure, with the facility of a model.
All basic materials and easels provided, BYO favourite pencils, charcoal, etc.
Topics covered will be planning, composition, materials and procedures, and drawing for a purpose: either with the aim of a fully rendered portrait drawing, or drawing for painting, procedures for each will be discussed, while we draw a portrait from our in studio model.
As our model time is limited to two hours, participants will receive basic instruction on portraiture.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Extended discussion and critiques will be conducted after 8pm.
The Drawing Room is providing a one night only preview as part of the PUNQ Launch with Townsville Eats on Friday 26th July, after which it will be open for business daily during the PUNQ Festival from 2-11 August.
We actively encourage those interested to follow up in The Drawing Room after opening on 2 August until 11 August.
