Island Fashion on Tour – Free Kids’ Activities

Visit the Children's Art Centre to explore fashion and adornment through creative hands-on and multimedia activities created by artists from Australia and the Pacific especially for children and families. Join in a paper folding activity by Grace Lillian Lee, design your own textile pattern in a multimedia interactive by Letila Mitchell, and create a wearable accessory inspired by the work of Maryann Talia Pau and Ranu James.

Join Umbrella for FREE hands-on art making activities over the first week of the September school holidays. The program invites children to explore fashion & adornment through interactive activities by artists from Australia and the Pacific including Grace Lillian Lee, Letila Mitchell, Maryann Talia Pau & Ranu James.

Bookings are not required however children must be accompanied by an adult guardian and visitors must comply with our COVID-Safe Plan (including social distancing and completing contact-tracing slips). Read more here.

These activities will be available in Umbrella’s gallery space at 408 Flinders St (next to Mary Who? Bookshop and opposite Woolworths). They will be available during the gallery’s regular opening hours Saturday 19 September – Sunday 27 September: Open Tues-Fri 9am-5pm / Sat-Sun 9am-1pm / Gallery closed Mondays, public hols & during exhibition install weeks | Shop open gallery hours & Tues-Thurs install weeks
