Screen printing with Found Objects
22 July, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
| See below for pricesEvent Navigation
In this workshop with Maxine Smith you will learn the basics of screen printing using found objects, including effective set up and equipment needed to do this at home, highlighting the range of imagery that can be used to create prints such as feathers, doilies, lace, leaves and flora, i.e. anything flat. You’ll get to experiment with printing techniques using a silk screen and squeegee, learn about pressure, flooding and technique for fabric and paper applications. A selection of ink colours will be available.
Please note: You will be using found objects as the relief in this workshop and not emulsion screens.
What to bring
- Clothes you don’t mind getting paint on.
- Any loose flat found objects such as leaves, feathers, lace etc as inspiration for your prints.
- Fabrics, t-shirts, tea towels or tote bags. Light colours are best. Paper will be provided.
