Umbrella Studio reaches a milestone in 2016 by turning 30 years old. This year, the theme Generation invites our artist members’ to reflect upon how Umbrella has impacted this generation of artists in Townsville or their own interpretation of the word generation. The exhibition has a $1,000 non-acquisitive artist prize sponsored by Sister City Partners. Wanton, Wild & Unimagined is a playful exhibition of sculptured recycled plastics that stirs the imagination and evokes environmental reflection by Alison McDonald. This is a travelling exhibition organised by Umbrella Studio contemporary arts, toured by Museums & Galleries Queensland. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government's Visions of Australia program; and supported by the Visual Arts and Craft Strategy, an initiative of the Australian, state and territory governments.
