Umbrella T-Shirt Competition
A Stairwell exhibition of the top 5 T-Shirt designs by JCU School of Creative Art students for the Umbrella promotional T-Shirt competition. Students were given a brief and invited to submit work for their designs to be seen by local designers from the creative industry who formed part of the judging panel. The winner will receive a pair of AudioTechnica WM77 Headphones valued at $100, an Umbrella Studio membership valued at $35.

An Australian Story: These are the hues of the land I love is a solo exhibition by Holly Grech that spans across the Main and Access Spaces, is an abstract series that represents the Australian landscape bringing into focus contemporary photomedia practice derivative of, and inspired by, the romanticised prose of prominent colonial and early settlement poets and authors such as George Essex Evans, Henry Kendall, Dorothea MacKellar, Henry Lawson and Banjo Paterson.

Luxlumin is a city wide digital projection festival. Umbrella Studio will be contributing to the festival by partnering with ABC OPEN to project stories contributed to ABC Open by people who work and live in north Queensland and who love writing, photography and filmmaking. See their stories on the ABC Open website and on the ABC. This will light up the east side wall of the Umbrella building.

A collaborative project between Umbrella Studio contemporary arts and PressNorth Printmakers, the exhibition PressNorth Printmakers: Wanderlust showcases the exemplary skills and talents of printmakers who are currently living and working in Townsville, North Queensland. The exhibition will explore a diverse range of themes displaying the variety of styles in the printmaking profession. The showcase of Jan Hynes Paintings is part of Umbrella Studio Sponsorship agreement with the Townsville Bulletin. Umbrella presents four exhibitions of Umbrella Members artwork in the space.
