Umbrella is delighted to host The Print Council of Australia‘s Print Commission 2020, a significant print exhibition alongside our own Compact Prints exhibition. The exhibition features six new works by contemporary artists (chosen from close to a hundred applications). Now in its 54th year, the Print Commission continues to foster the creation of new work in print media and the development of Australian printmaking. It also provides Australia’s best opportunity to start and grow a museum quality collection of contemporary works on paper, and is an important fundraiser for the PCA. Major public institutions and private collectors across the country and internationally subscribe to the Print Commission to build their collections, and all PCA members can purchase prints at discounted rates.
The artists featured in this years commission are Silvi Glattauer (Vic); Rhi Johnson (QLD); Joanna Kambourian (NSW); AHC McDonald (WA); Daniel O’Shane (QLD); and Sheyne Tuffery (New Zealand). The artworks have been launched online here and the exhibition will be on display 2 October – 15 November 2020.
